Skagway Alaska
Skagway, a town of 800 residents, expands to 7,000 when three cruise ships dock.
Mario rented a "jeep" to tour Highway 2 from Skagway to the Canadian border.
This is Emerald Lake on the way North.
Donnalee poses with her niece Melissa and nephew Mario.
Pete and Donnalee stopped skipping rocks after 1 and 2 skip tosses.

Summit Creek flowing to the East.
We can't pinpoint this location, but all the photos on this page are on Highway 2.
The variety of scenery is majestic.
Hwy 12 goes from Alaska to British Columbia to Yukon in just a couple of hours.
This little dessert is just one square mile in the middle of all this forest.
View of Bennett Lake from a photo platform in Carcross, Yukon.
Water is everywhere.
Very unique landscape.
Entering Alaska in May 2009 by motorhome and Sep 2024 by cruise.
Pete joins in with his best version of Vanna White.
When we entered this border station in 2009, the border guard said, "Welcome to Alaska, Mr. Mattson"
We are still wondering how he did that!
Tour the town of
Skagway as seen during our 2009 Big Adventure in the MotherShip.
With love, Pete and Ellen
