Week 269-270 - The 25th Annual Huntsman Senior Games - 10-16-2011
Hey guys, Mandy here!
You know, I don't think this is working out? My newly adopted
parents made a lot of promises. Good times, fun, food, no work,
playing in the grass. Sounded good!
So, I said goodbye to my friends in Denver and we headed out.
It looked good for a while, hey, they even had email!
So, we're cruising along, seeing some pretty neat places and
having some good times. But then, all of a sudden it's
Pickleball, Pickleball, Pickleball, ad nausea-em. Two weeks at
the Huntsman Senior Games in St. George, Utah, all Pickleball.
Ugh!
Look at this place. Sure, I can go outside when I want. But,
no grass, no water, no playground. What's the point?
So, we all lose. You, my precious viewers: Did you get an
exciting travelogue full of pictures of places you'd like to
visit and can only do vicariously? Did you get to see some of
the incredible sites in these United States? Did you learn new
things that only my parents can bring to you? No, no, no!
Here's some shots from the past; that's what I'm talking about. And, that gal to the right of the bear is pretty cute, eh?
Well, I've had enough of this. I talked to the folks and they
promised to do better. Next week, we'll be on the road again and
things should get back to normal. We'll head off to Arizona; I
haven't been there yet. What am I talking about? I haven't been
anywhere!
In the meantime, they said they have to play one more game.
Yippee, I love games! Oh, boy, they meant Pickleball.
They said that this week they were going to highlight the 25th
Annual Senior Games. You know; opening ceremony, concert,
Western dinner dance, 26 different sports and over 10,000 senior
athletes. But, after taking over 56,000 photos in the past five
years, they did not take a single photo of the games. Good
grief! That's not acceptable. See you next week. I'm willing to give them one
more chance, if you are!
Here's where we are headed.
Woof! Love, Mandy
P.S. Here's our new family portrait, in case you can't remember
what I look like. Thank dog they didn't call me Pickles!
