Micah Mazie Grace

God's miracle of birth brought Micah into the world on Monday, March 21st, 2011. Healthy, she weighed in at 6 pounds 13 ounces ~~standing~~ laying at 19 1/2 inches.

A little background. Many months ago Emily called Ellen and said, "Hey Mom, whatcha doin' on Mar 20th?". Ellen answered, "We are flying to Hawaii on that very day!". "Darn", quipped Emily, "I thought nothing would trump this! That's our due date.". So sadly, we were in Hawaii when Micah was born. But we got to Durham a week later for a visit. 1) Grandma Ellen couldn't be happier to hold the little tyke. 2) Emily shows off her Moby which lets Micah cuddle while Em eats or does other activities.

Pete thought that since Micah would eventually find out that he and Ellen live in the Mothership, what better way, to let her know, than to take her camping. Micah really enjoyed her 11th and 12th day of life, camping at Bidwell Canyon Campground on Lake Oroville. We think she enjoys the gypsy lifestyle.

And who doesn't love a sleeping baby?

Our congratulations go out to Emily and Chad and our blessings to baby Micah. And a big thank you to Chad's parents, Steve and Esther. Thank you for your hospitality to us and for your care for Em and Chad while they are looking for their new home.
