Week 59 - Northwest States, Friends and Relatives - 09-30-2007
Greetings from the Northwest,
We left the wildlife of Belgrade after going to church with Mike and
Joyce. After a night in Missoula, MT, we headed to Coeur d'Alene,
Idaho. Ellen's cousins, Mark and Jean Milheim, drove up from Potlatch,
Idaho
and we had a wonderful evening. We had such a great time visiting with
them that we forgot to get a picture. But here are
pictures of our journey to Coeur d'Alene.
From Coeur d'Alene, we headed to Chelan, Washington and spent a few
days with
our friends of 32 years, Colleen and Roy . Last time we visited
them was in 2001 while they were living
in Puyallup, Washington. We were following our GPS up a winding road
toward
their house. Pete
looked up at a house on the side of a mountain and said, "I hope that
isn't their house" and of course it was. It was scary climbing those
curves in
our motorhome, but we made it, spent a few days visiting and seeing the
beautiful area. We plan to visit again in the springtime.
The first picture is a view from our friends living room overlooking
Chelan. The fourth is a picture of the bridge where we crossed the
Columbia River.
From Chelan we traveled west to our friend's home near Seattle. The
beautiful drive followed the Columbia River and up and over the
Steven's Pass, where it snowed on us at the peak. Then we drove
along the Wenatchee river for fifty miles through the towns of
Leavenworth, Cashmere, and Monitor.
We spent Friday night in Burien, Washington with friends Ed
and Sheryl, that we had originally met in Indio, California. We had a
wonderful
dinner at their home and are looking forward to meeting up with them
again at their place in Ventura.
It was a great week of visiting special friends. We thank them for
their hospitality.
Love to all of you,
Pete and Ellen
